Paraguay citizens are not required to apply for a visa and access the Schengen area from their country. Once it is confirmed, the passport is original, and the Paraguayan national has validity to enter the immigration allows the stay of 90 days to the Paraguayan citizen. Things will change after the last quarter of 2022 as the authorities and officials have ordered to make a system that will provide the visa waiver to the Paraguayan and other citizens of the 60 member countries with the visa waiver. The authorisation will be linked to the passport, and the traveller will also get a soft copy which can be printed from the email address provided.

TRAVELING TO EUROPE

The visa waiver obtained from the ETIAS remains valid for three years. The ETIAS is linked electronically to the passport, and it remains valid until the passport is valid for a three-year duration. If the Paraguayan passport expires before the three year validity period, the Paraguayan national will have to go back to the country and get a new passport. After that, the ETIAS process must have to start from step one, applying through the online portal and get it linked to the new passport to gain access to the Schengen states. The dual national and Paraguayan citizens with more than one passport must apply with a single passport that has more validity. They are legally obliged to keep that linked passport all the time during their visit to the Schengen area. Minors are not exempted from the visa waiver process. All the process is the same, and the fee will be paid by the debit or credit card of parents or guardians. Parents or minor will fill the application form and proved all the required information to start the process. The application process is simple and Paraguayan citizens have to provide all the necessary information, which will be screened through the various databases. The process will take 10 to 20 minutes. If there is some discrepancy or mismatch in the information, the application will shift to the manual, and it might take 3 to 4 working days to provide the visa waiver. The ETIAS awards 90 days stay to all the Paraguayan citizens. They can enter for unlimited time in the Schengen states, and the 90 days stay valid for 180 days or six months.

FAQs ETIAS FOR PARAGUAYANS

WORK IN EUROPE

The ETIAS is not only for Palauan nationals. It will be in effect after the last quarter of 2022 for all the citizens of member states. The TIAS will require personal and security-related information from the applicant. There will be an online portal which will take all the information from the applicant along with the passport and personal detail. If the applicant tries to hide the criminal record, the national and international database of law enforcement agencies will be checked and screened to provide the authorisation to the applicant. ETIAS is the authorisation that can be used for transit, medical checkups, conferences and tourism. The visa waiver allows the holder to stay in any of the Schengen areas. The stay must not exceed 90 days. The visa waiver doesn't allow any Paraguayan citizen to stay more than 90 days in 6 months. The visa waiver is not a visa that allows the holder to get employment or involve any working activity that can be entailed under the title of employment. The Paraguayan citizens and all the other members of eligible countries are legally restricted to get any employment from the ETIAS. The Paraguayan nationals can go to all the different states and look for the rules and regulations, living conditions and environment for the employees. After deciding the country of employment, they can go back to their homeland and apply for a work visa in the concerned state's embassy. The visa waiver allows the stay and travel to all the Schengen areas, which makes it easy for the Paraguayan national to take the decision that will not make them regret it in the future. If the Paraguayan nationals spend more than 90 days in the six months, the thing will take a nasty turn, and the end result will be fine, or the holder will have to face some dire consequence. The ETIAS visa waiver might be revoked, and the holder can be sent back to the country and will be denied access in future.

STAY IN THE EU

It must be cleared the ETIAS visa waiver is not the authorisation for a long term stay in the Schengen area. The visa waiver allows the Paraguayan nationals and all the other citizens from 60 countries to enter the Schengen area as many time as they want. But there are some limitations that must be kept in mind. Otherwise, there will be some consequences that will make things worse for the visa holder. The authorities won't forgive you from the fine or revocation if you say that you don’t know about the 90 days policy. The 90 days policy means that the ETIAS visa waiver allows the holder to stay for 90 days in 180 days. You can enter and leave any or all of the Schengen states of your choice at any time you want, .but you must not stay more than 90 days in the 180 consecutive days. After completing the regular or random stay for 90 days, you must go out of the Schengen area and spend the other 90 days outside the Schengen area. During this period, the holder is not allowed to enter any of the Schengen states by the authorities as the 90 days requirement is necessary to board the vehicle to enter the Schengen area. If you have not completed the 90 days outside the Schengen area, the vehicle will not allow you to board it and go near the border. The Paraguayan citizens who want an extended stay without any trouble must apply for the resident visa from the embassy of their required state in their own country. There are different requirements for every state. Once you have completed all the requirements, you will get the visa and will be legally allowed to stay longer than 90 days in the Schengen state.

ENTERING SCHENGEN AREA WITH A CRIMINAL RECORD

If you have committed a crime and deliberately kept it hidden in the application process, this will pose a serious issue to the acceptance of your ETIAAS visa authorisation. The Paraguayan citizens who have committed a crime in their country can get access to the Schengen area if they are not considered a threat to the European citizens. When the applicant provides all the application, and the criminal record shows the red flag after screening the information with the national and international databases. The law enforcement agencies and their database will show the flag, and the authorities will have the application turned from automatic to manual. The officers in the immigration department will decide whether the person is a threat to the EU nationals or not. If the intensity of the crime indicates that the person must not get access to the Schengen state, the denial will be sent to the email address provided in the beginning. In most cases, the nominal crimes will not hinder access to the Schengen area.
