Peru and its national are enjoying the visa-exempt status. This means that they don't require any visa or pre-requisites to get the documents to enter any of the Schengen states. All they need is a valid Peruvian visa, and they are good to go. All the countries mentioned above do not require any special documents or a visa for the Peruvian nationals to enter. The Peruvian nationals can enter any of these states and stay there for 90 days. Things will not remain the same after the implementation of the ETIAS. ETIAS is a visa waiver system that will allow all member nationals to enter the Schengen area and stay for 90 days. The Peruvian citizens and the nationals of the member states will have to apply for the ETIAS authorisation to get access to the Schengen area after implementing this new system. Peruvian will require to apply on the online portal, which will require all the basic and security-related information. The whole process will take only 10 to 20 minutes, and by paying the minimal fee from the valid debit or credit card, the applicant will receive the electronic visa waiver at the email address. It will also be linked to the passport provided at the time of filling the application form.


Peruvian do not need any visa or travelling document to cross the Schengen border and stay there for 90 days in the city and state of their choice. The visa policy is because of the agreement between Peru and Schengen states. The situation will not remain the same after the implementation of the visa waive system. ETIAS will provide the authorisation to the Peruvian and all the other citizens from 60 member states after completing the application process. The Peruvian citizens will need to fill the application form that will need basic security, health and travel-related information. This information will be screened, and after the screening, if the applicant is deemed clear, he or she will get the authorisation on the email. The electronic visa authorisation will also be linked to the passport. It will remain valid for three years, and it will allow 90 days stay. The ETIAS will require the following from the applicant:

When the Peru citizen or some other national from member state gets the ETIAS authorisation he or she will be provided with the authorisation that will stay valid for three years. It will provide 90 days stay in all the Schengen states. The authorisation holder can go in and out of the Schengen are unlimited times without any issue. Information of the applicant from Peru or another country will be screened. All the significant national and international databases will be used to screen the information provided by the applicant. The ETIAS is an online system that will be linked with databases from law enforcement agencies. It will aid in easy access and immigration for both the authorities and travellers. But the main purpose of the system is to improve the security conditions and provide safety to the EU nationals.


The Peruvian nationals with a valid passport will be eligible to apply for the visa waiver from ETIAS. This visa waiver is an authorisation that will prove access to all the Schengen states, and the holder gets access to stay in any single or more countries of choice in the Schengen zone. There is no limitation on the visits for entering and exit the Schengen zone. The main limitation this visa waiver imposes is the 90 days stay in the six months. The applicant can travel unlimited times in the period of three years of validity. But the total number of stay in the Schengen zone must not exceed 90 days. After completing the 90 days’ time in 6 months, the traveller must leave the Schengen zone at once. The traveller will be legally bound to stay out of the Schengen zone for 90 days. After completing 90 days out of the Schengen states, the traveller will again have unlimited access to the area and the stays comprising of a total of 90 days again in 6 months. The ETIAS is electronically linked to the passport. If the passport expires, the traveller will have to leave the Schengen zone at once and get a new valid passport. The ETIAS process will be the same as the first time. The Peruvian citizen with more than one passport is advised to get the ETIAS linked to the passport, which has more validity. The travellers must keep a particular passport all the time with them. The information will be checked by the border authorities to provide them access to only those who are safe and provide no potential threat to EU citizens.


All the applicants and their information will be screened through law enforcement agencies' national and international databases. The applicant will provide all basic and security-related information. The ETIAS will be the nexus of national and international security databases, and the applicant will not be able to hide any criminal or health-related information. In case of any discrepancy, the application will be converted to manual, and it will take 3 to 4 days item to finalise and provide the access. Peruvian citizens can go to universities and attend seminars or workshops. The short classes are also allowed on the ETIAS visa waiver. But if the Peruvian students want to enrol in any of the university in the Schengen zone, they will need a full-time study visa which they can get from the embassy or consulate in their own country.


Currently, Peruvian nationals are allowed to stay for 90 days in the Schengen zone. The travellers and tourists are allowed this duration in the total six month period.
